Supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities

eTech have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities UK to support the amazing work that they do, providing free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital. On Thursday 3rd October, a group of kind colleagues volunteered to clean up an outdoor area of the Ronald McDonald House which supports families with children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The building has 66 bedrooms and is based just a stones throw away from the hospital, providing free accommodation for families to rest, without the worry of costly travel expenses.

Our colleagues made the first of what will be a series of visits to spruce up a previously neglected outdoor area, adjacent to the House’s coffee area. Jim, Rebecca, Dawn, Craig and Nick spent half a day, clearing, jet washing the paving and most enjoyably potting an array of plants. eTech supplied all the materials, purchased from our local garden centre Nottcutts, who kindly discounted the goods in support of our efforts. Supplies included the shrubs and a lovely wooden bench, where families can sit and spend time outdoors, within pleasant surroundings.

Plans for our next visit include providing a bird table and bird feed and to make additional improvements to the outdoor space!
