eTech welcomes its first apprentices

20th August 2014

eTech opened its doors this week to its new apprentices amidst a flurry of applications. The first intake kicked-off with the recruitment of five new Software Developers and they will be joined shortly by an Office Junior, an existing employee transferring to become a Business Analyst under the scheme and an eighth person doing their AAT accountancy qualification under the eTech Apprentice umbrella.

The chosen apprentices, who range in age from 17-24, have joined from a variety of backgrounds but are all equally excited about the opportunity.

eTech are working in conjunction with leading IT Apprenticeship provider QA Apprenticeships and both companies are really looking forward to working with these young people over the next few years and watching them develop both their technical skills and personal attributes. Dee Fox, Head of Regional Sales at QA Apprenticeships said – “The culture at eTech is very supportive and as the company is growing so quickly it seemed a natural opportunity for them to engage with us to look at taking on their first apprentices. With QA Apprenticeships being the first IT apprenticeships business rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, our partnership with eTech will produce world class talent with great tech skills and a bright future.”

Jim Driver, Managing Director at eTech added “when we originally launched the scheme to find our first intake, we were astounded at not only the number of people who came forward, but the quality and enthusiasm they all demonstrated. It was disappointing that we could only take a small number to start with as the calibre was incredibly high, but we know the ones we selected are a great fit for us and will grasp the opportunity with both hands.”

Founded in 2008 and privately owned, eTech is expanding rapidly. A recent move to state of the art offices near Solihull gives them the extra space to maintain that pace. Now numbering over 100 staff, eTech are certainly planning for the future and look set to offer these new apprentices a great opportunity.
