Green Deal – an update on the Energy Company Obligation (ECO)

15th September 2012

eTech are working with a number of the Green Deal Pioneers and are in discussions with many others to provide the software platform to deliver their Green Deal and ECO aspirations.

ECO is split into three areas:

  1. Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation (focused on solid wall and hard to treat cavities)
  2. Carbon Saving Community Obligation (focused on insulation in areas of low socio economic output)
  3. Home Heating Cost Reduction obligation (or affordable warmth, focused on heating and insulation for low income households).

For ECO Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation, we are releasing the iPad application in October which will enable a surveyor to undertake an EPC on a property and generate the recommended measures together with their lifetime affordable warmth saving.

The measures can be priced up using the installers pricing matrix and measures selected and deselected by the surveyor to produce an optimised selection of measures. There is a process to capture the householders’ and interested parties’ consent and, where appropriate, the householder can sign their acceptance on the iPad.

In addition to the iPad application, our Property Hub enables organisation to manage their affordable warmth work. If you are working for an organisation that is planning on delivering ECO Affordable Warmth work and would like to hear more then please do contact us.

Alternatively, we are often approached by companies looking for self employed assessors and if you would like us to pass your details on to them, then please do log on to the portal at http://portal.etech.net/ and complete the online process and your details will be added to our database.
