eTech to sponsor WarwickTECH’s flagship Hackathon again this year

1st February 2016

WarwickTECH is looking to make this year’s Hackathon on the 20th February bigger and better with 100+ more attendees compared to previous events

This year Warwick University will be looking forward to running WarwickHACK, a notorious University Hackathon event organised by the society WarwickTECH, part of a network of hackers with participants from across the continent in the Major League Hackers.

Hackathons typically start with a couple of presentations about the specific subject or objectives of the event. They then form teams based on individual strengths or previous networks and the day begins. Hackathons have been around since the first 10 person event in June of 1999, Calgary USA. Since then there has been global interest in events like these especially within university campuses such as Warwick. The last hackathon held by the University lasted 24 hrs and has been known to last for even longer.

eTech sponsored and judged the 2015 event and once again are delighted to be doing the same this year including handing out prizes to competitors who are victorious.

There will be lots of prizes to be won and we expect large quantities of pizza and energy drinks to be consumed.  We also forecast sleeping to be on-site with sleeping bags on the ready. WarwickTECH is looking to host 200 participants from all over the world who will come to learn, compete and have fun!

This will be a great opportunity for tech enthusiasts to meet our Development Team, learn what eTech are about and potentially apply for our graduate and intern opportunities.
